Former England captain, Casey Stoney, could be set to become manager of the new Manchester United women’s team, report BBC Sport.
Stoney, 36, won 130 caps for the Lionesses and has been assisting head coach Phil Neville after ending her long and illustrious playing career at Liverpool.
United have apparently been interviewing for the post ahead of next Sunday’s decision on applications to join the WSL and the rebranded second tier; The FA Women’s Championship.
An announcement is expected after confirmation of the club’s acceptance into the Championship, which could see Stoney leaving her position with the Lionesses.
