Cardiff City FC were 3-1 winners over FA of Wales Women’s Cup holders Cardiff Met in a quarter-final tie on Wednesday 19 February.

The Bluebirds made a flying start, going 2-0 up in 13 minutes as Kate Jeremiah’s opener was added to with a Zoe Atkins half-volley.

Goalkeeper Ceryn Chamberlain did well to maintain the two-goal cushion and it was three close to half-time as Catherine Walsh converted a penalty awarded for handball.

The winning margin was only dented when Erin Murray pulled a goal back 5 minute from time but Met will have an opportunity for revenge on Sunday when they visit Leckwith Stadium again, this time in the semi final of the Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup.

Cardiff City FC will meet the winners of the tie between Llandudno and Abergavenny for a place in the Welsh Cup final.
