C & K Basildon won the Essex FA’s Women’s Cup (sponsored by BBC Essex) on Thursday evening, with a comfortable 7-0 victory over lower league Brentwood Town at Aveley FC.

Goalkeeper Kelly Walker saved well from Angela Addison, before the Basildon forward opened the scoring on 13 minutes.

Walker tipped a Zoe Rushen free-kick over the crossbar, Addison doubling the lead from an Ellie Manning corner 7 minutes short of half-time.

Danica Revell was denied the third by the post but Addison completed her hat-trick 3 minutes into the second half.

The Eastern League side kept the score at 3-0 until 13 minutes from time, after which the FA WPL outfit struck four more times.

Jay Blackie swept the ball home to make it 4-0 but then Drew Allen’s long-range effort had to be tipped over the top by Basildon keeper Nikita Runnacles.

Rushen then headed in Manning’s corner and in added time, Addison turned home Karissa Rodney’s low centre for her fourth goal, before Rushen’s free-kick from the edge of the area dropped inside the far post.
