Kaylan Marckese, a 25-year-old goalkeeper, has joined Bristol City Women on a season-long loan from Arsenal.
The two-time Swedish league title winner with HB Køge, has also represented Sky Blue FC in the NWSL and Iceland’s Selfoss.
Playing eight Champions League matches for Køge, she made 48 saves – more than any other keeper in the competition.
Marckese told bcfc.co.uk: “I’m excited to get started and to play at Ashton Gate and experience the fans. I’m looking forward to getting to know the team and the community, especially because there is such a buzz around promotion back to the Women’s Super League.
“I can’t wait to get going with the girls and see what we can achieve together.”
