Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Norwegian international Guro Bergsvand on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The versatile defender, 28, brings a wealth of experience to the defence, having played for Stabaek, Lyn, and SK Brann in Norway’s Toppserien.

Head coach Jens Scheuer told brightonandhovealbion.com: “Firstly we are happy that Guro has chosen to join us, I am sure that she will help us stabilise the defence.

“She has a lot of experience domestically in Norway as well as with her national team so it’s a really good signing for us.

“We are convinced by her quality, so I have no doubt that she won’t need long to adapt to the league.”
