Blackburn Rovers have made the permanent signing of defender Niamh Murphy on a two-year deal with an option of a further 12 months, reports rovers.co.uk.
Murphy originally joined the Blues last summer as she spent the 2022-23 season on a dual registration with Manchester United and has now made the move permanent following her departure from the Barclays Women’s Super League side.
The 20-year-old enjoyed an impressive break-out campaign in senior football last term as she featured in every single game for Rovers during 2022-23, racking up 26 appearances from defence.
Murphy also became the second-ever Rovers player to be named the Barclays Women’s Championship Player of the Month as she picked up the award back in November 2022 after a solid month in the blue-and-white halves.
The defender rounded-off a stellar campaign as she was named our Young Player of the Year at the club’s awards ceremony back in May.
