Barclays Women’s Super League: Man Utd host Arsenal on Friday

The second round of Barclays Women’s Super League games begins on Friday with the very intriguing clash of Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Reds go into the game on the back of a dramatic late opening-day victory at Aston Villa, the Gunners looking for a swift response to a surprise home defeat by Liverpool. Meanwhile, Matt Beard’s side host Carla Ward’s team on Sunday evening.

Manchester City meet Chelsea with both having made winning starts, Brighton bid for another three points as home to West Ham, likewise Leicester City who entertain Everton.

Tottenham take on Bristol City, with both sides keen to get off the mark after defeats last Sunday.

Barclays Women’s Championship leaders Blackburn Rovers welcome fourth-placed Crystal Palace, Birmingham City are up against second-placed Sunderland, Watford tackle third in the table Southampton.

Charlton Athletic play Durham whom they lead by a single point, Lewes look for a first win at Reading, Sheffield United face London City Lionesses on Saturday with just one win each so far.
