Women’s International friendlies on Sunday 26 June included a 1-0 victory for Austria away to Belgium in Lier.

Maria Plattner scored midway through the second half, as they beat their hosts who sit a couple of places above them in the world rankings, ahead of next month’s WEURO2022.

There was also just a single goal in it as Hong Kong won away to Singapore but two goalless games, when Canada hosted South Korea and Bangladesh entertained Malaysia.

Meanwhile, the Europeada 2022 European Championship – for indigenous national minorities – got underway with the first group games. Hosts Carinthian Slovenes thrashed Romansch 17-0 and South Tyrol put seven past Ladins.
