Aston Villa Women have signed defender Maz Pacheco from West Ham United for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old left-back is a former England youth international, who has spent the last three seasons playing in the WSL with Reading and then the Hammers.

Her WSL experience goes back further, having made her debut in the league aged just 16, when she was at Liverpool.

She also helped Doncaster Rovers Belles win the WSL 2 title in one of two spells with the side.

Pacheco also helped England to a third-place finish at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, and has made 35 appearances for the development teams.

Aston Villa head coach Carla Ward told avfc.co.uk: “Maz is someone who comes with great energy and a wealth of WSL experience.

“She’s someone we’ve monitored for a long time and I’m delighted to bring her in.

“She’ll add a lot of quality to this group.”
