Real Madrid took the lead midway through the first half, Caroline Wier’s ball beating Leah Williamson for Linda Caicedo to go through on goal, finishing low past Manuela Zinsberger.
Stina Blackstenius had an attempt for Arsenal, then at the end of the half Beth Mead fired just wide of the far pots from 20 yards.
Chloe Kelly came off the bench for the second half and soon had a deflected effort, which goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez gathered after initially dropping it close to the line.

Rodriguez had another deflected ball to deal with, punching clear Lia Walti’s effort but with eight minutes left of the 90, Madrid doubled their lead on another counter-attack, with Athenea del Castillo’s drive only helped into the corner by Zinsberger,

Tabitha Chawinga gave Lyon the lead with a breakaway move 10 minutes from half time, Melchie Dumornay extended the advantage after 65 minutes.
