Andy Spence has left his role as Head Coach of Everton Ladies, with the side bottom of the FAWSL after losing to fellow strugglers Yeovil Town on Sunday.

Spence spent much of the last 15 years with the team, as assistant from 2004 to 2012, then taking over the reigns from Mo Marley for three years, leaving following relegation but returning six months later.

He led the side to the WSL 2 Spring Series title in 2017 and was named Coach of the Year.

The club say that a permanent appointment will be made as soon as possible and, in the interim, goalkeeping coach Jennifer Herst will take temporary charge.
