Hibernian began the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League campaign with an away win while the usual title chasers won big.

Hibernian scored early in each half for a 2-1 victory at Partick Thistle. Abbie Ferguson and Tegan Bowie got the goals that had Hibs 2-0 up, Emma Lawton replying before the hour mark.

Motherwell came from behind to win 5-1 at Spartans, who were down to ten players before the break with the dismissal of Robyn McCafferty. Hannah Jordan got the opener but Bailey Collins and a penalty by Rachel Todd saw Motherwell lead at half time. Sarah Gibb and Morgan Cross further extended the lead, with Todd then netting her second.
Glasgow City sank Montrose 7-0, with six of the goals coming in the last 34 minutes. Sofia Määttä struck a second-half hat-trick, Nicole Kozlova got a couple with Samantha van Diemen and Jo Love also on target.
Defending champions Celtic coasted to a 9-0 win over Dundee United, Saoirse Noonan bagging a brace and Maria McAneny matching that late on. There was a goal apiece for Lucy Ashworth-Clifford, Jenny Smith, Bruna Lourenco, Amy Gallacher and debutant Signe Carstens.
Promoted Queen’s Park suffered an 11-1 defeat at home to Hearts, Kerry Beattie and Lauren Wade scoring the first of their doubles early on, with Emma Craig halving the deficit. Sade Adamolekun also netted twice, Jess Husband getting one, while Jackie Richards and Georgia Timms added two each in the last 10 minutes.
Katie Wilkinson scored four goals on her competitive debut for Rangers, as they stormed to an 11-0 victory at Aberdeen. Rio Hardy and Lizzie Arnot each added a couple, Liv McLoughlin and Laura Berry also scoring, while Chloe Gover conceded an own-goal.

Gartcairn 2-1 St Johnstone
Hamilton Academical 6-2 Livingston
Rossvale 4-1 Kilmarnock
Rossvale won on their SWPL 2 debut, Megan Whiteford bagging a brace in the 4-1 defeat of Kilmarnock, Lauren Coleman also on target, plus an own-goal from the visitors.
Eva Gray got a late winner as Gartcairn saw off ten-player St Johnstone 2-1. Megan Robb’s opener was cancelled out by Olivia Hurrell, despite the visitors’ red card.
Hamilton hit Livingston 6-2, whose Lauren Evans had made it 1-1 with the first of her brace. Hannah Coakley matched that tally for the Accies, with one apiece from Josephine Giard, Eryn Brown, Sophie Townsley and Lauren Kerr.
Boroughmuir Thistle suck newcomers Ayr United 7-1, Cailin Michie and Becky Galbraith both at the double. Robin Gallacher, Louise Mason and Amy Forbes were their other scorers, Ayr netting before half time.
