Watford FC have signed striker Carly Johns, last season’s top goalscorer in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.
Johns scored 15 times for Oxford United, as she won the division’s golden boot but her side fell two points short of Watford in the title race, with the Hornets then winning promotion via the Championship play off.
After graduating from the U’s academy team, Johns spent three seasons in Oxford’s senior side, during which she amassed 52 goals from 76 appearances.
She has already found the net for the Hornets, during the club’s pre-season friendlies.
