Sheffield United Women’s latest signing is exciting young midfielder Ella Kinzett from Manchester United.
Kinzett joins the Blades after progressing through the Manchester United academy, where in 2022 she starred in the FA Youth Girls’ Cup final against Birmingham City, before embarking on her first season of senior football in a dual-registration deal with Burnley last year.
The young midfielder enjoyed a good season with one of the FA Women’s National League high-flyers under the guidance of Jonathan Morgan, and Kinzett is now reunited with her former head coach at Bramall Lane.
Kinzett said: “I’m really happy to be here. It’s a great group and an ambitious club so I’m really happy.
“My time with Man United has massively helped me and going to Burnley with Jonno helped bridge the gap into women’s football. I know Jonno and it’s good to connect with him again, I know what he expects of me and I hope I can hit the ground running.
Morgan commented: “I worked with Ella at Burnley last season and honestly she’s one of those players who I think goes under the radar. What I saw first was her technical ability is up there with some of the best in my opinion, she’s a delight to have around and she’s a midfielder who can play a holding role or an attacking role and she was exactly what I wanted.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how she does and how she develops in the Championship. I think she will be a hidden gem.”
