FAWNL: Over 1,500 see Newcastle United Women win again

Many FA Women’s National League clubs again enjoyed improved attendances, Newcastle United attracting the best crowd.

Northern Premier Division

Nottingham Forest and Burnley are each on maximum points after two games, Liverpool Feds drew again after their promotion.

Four teams made it two wins from two; Portsmouth, Oxford United, Watford and promoted Cheltenham. Fran Ali sealed the Hornets win in added time, substitute Lacy-Jai Liggett got the decider for Town. Ipswich suffered a second home defeat, as Gillingham grabbed a second-half brace.

Barnsley, Middlesbrough and Newcastle United all have six points from two matches, all with notable attendances. Stockport had substitute Chloe Howard sent off at Newcastle, Bianca Owens got both Norton’s goals in their win at Hull.

Norwich City and London Seaward extended winning starts, Rebecca Russell in target for the Canaries. Hashtag hit double-figures against newcomers Wymondham with a hat-trick from Malika Apindia Gille, Chloe Gunn gave QPR the points at Wimbledon.
