This week saw the quarter-final ties in the Northern Ireland Women’s FA Divisional League Cup competitions, from the Championship down to Division Four.
CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE CUP
There were big away wins with Larne leading the way 14-0 at Coleraine, where Hollie Johnston topscored with five. St James Swifts netted 11-0 at Comber Rec as Amber Dempster and Chloe Doak cotroubted hat-tricks. Foyle Belles won 7-1 at Killen Rangers with Abby Alexander scoring three of their goals.
DIVISION ONE LEAGUE CUP
There was a similar pattern in the Division One with all the away teams prevailing, comfortable wins for Lisburn Rangers over Crewe United, Ballyclare Comrades against Armagh City and Bangor putting out Portadown.
DIVISION TWO LEAGUE CUP
One home side was able to break the away hoodoo in Division Two as Camlough Rovers easily disposed of Ballyclare Comrades Reserves, aided by a four-goal haul by Ellen McCartney. Also into the semi-finals are St Oliver Plunkett, Ballynahinch and Kilmore Rec, who overcame Ballymena United Seconds, Banbridge Town and Larne Olympic respectively.
DIVISION THREE LEAGUE CUP
Division Three reversed the trend of away wins this week, with all th,ree games producing home victories. Greenisland, Shamrock and Rosario made it through the last four eliminating Banbridge Rangers, Belfast Ravens and Antrim Rovers respectively.
DIVISION FOUR LEAGUE CUP
The 22nd Ladies came back from a goal down to defeat Dromara Village 6-3 and Strabane comfortably disposed of Ballymoney United Reserves to also make the last four.
DIVISION FIVE EAST
Teams continued on with league action with leaders Lisburn Distillery defeating second-placed Futuro Falcons on Wednesday night, to open up a nine point gap at the top of that section. First Bangor picked up their first win of the season as they defeated Belfast Ravens Seconds., while Comber Rec Reserves also secured three points as they overcame Crewe Reserves.
DIVISION FIVE WEST
Maiden City looked set to cause an upset as they led league leaders Lisbellaw 3-0 at half time. However, a fightback resulted in a 3-3 draw at full time. Elsewhere, Antrim Rovers Reserves picked up an important three points when they won at Raceview.
