Second in the FA Women’s Championship, Bristol City were held at home by basement side Coventry United after a late equaliser.

Abi Harrison fired the Robins in front and nearly got a second before the break but Lucy Thomas tipped her header over the bar.

Fran Bentley protected the advantage when making great saves to deny both Freya Thomas and then Nat Johnson.

Harrison saw her shot well saved by Thomas, before Katie Wilkinson headed home Johnson’s cross to give Coventry a late equaliser.

The draw sees Bristol lead the pack in the race for second place, while Coventry need to win both their last two games to stay up, the last of which is away to next-to-bottom Watford on 1 May.
