Spurs Reach Premier League Cup Final

A first-half backpass let in Spurs’ Avilla Bergin but her effort was blocked by keeper Vanessa Kinnerley, eho then saved Wendy Martin’s follow-up.

Natasha Meade was unable to get enough contact on an Andi Bell delivery for the hosts and when Meade did strike a ferocious shot, Alexandra Keown was on hand to charge ot down.

After the break, a Ronnel Humes shot was turned onto the Forest bar by the keeper but then the hosts threatened as Annabel McKechnie forced a goal-line clearance, Toni-Anne Wayne was forced to tip Kelley Kennaugh’s close-range header onto the post and make a brave save as Bell burst into the box

The decisive moment came 18 minutes from the end as Leah Rowle glanced Eartha Pond’s cross to Bergin, who found the back of the net.

Spurs will play Cardiff or Blackburn in the final, who meet in Wales next Sunday.

The final is set for Sunday May 8th at Kidderminster Harriers FC.
