Northampton Town went top of the tree in a reduced pre-Christmas programme of Women’s Regional League fixtures.
EAST MIDLANDS – Cobblers are the festive Number One
Premier – Northampton Town won with three first half goals from Gracie Williams, Leah Cudone and Rachael Mumford against Notts County to go top of the league. Lincoln United thrashed Rotherham United 10-3, four goals from Abigail Murrell helping lift them to fourth.
1 North – Notts County DS held second-placed Grimsby Town 1-1, Grimsby Borough went fourth with all three goals at Sherweood and Cleethorpes Town went level on points with Sleaford Town after beating them 4-1 away.
1 South – Despite having Madeline Watkinson sent off, leaders Derby County Academy put ten goals past Peterborough United Reserves with three for Holly Otter. Nottingham Forest DS beat Kettering Town 6-2, aided by a four-goal haul by Jayda Jenkins, to rise to fourth spot.
LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Hastings go through in Cup
League Cup – Hastings United won the second round tie with AFC Acorns by five goals to two. Claire Johnson, Nicole Baitup and Georgia Tibble were on target for the hosts, who forced two own-goals. Hastings now go to Walton Casuals in the 3rd Round on Sunday 9 January.

NORTH WEST – Curzon hit six in clash of top two
Premier – Merseyrail go into the new year with a five point advantage at the top after hitting hosts Wigan Athletic for six. Fleetwood Town Wrens finished 2021 in sixth after defeating fourth-placed Salford City Lionesses 3-0.
1 North – Chorley DS held leaders Blackpool to a 2-2 tie, the visitors having Maisie Rogers dismissed late on. Workington Reds hit six second-half goals in sinking Morecambe Reserves 7-1 to go third, with Penrith drawing 1-1 at Penwortham Town. Preston North End took the points 2-0 at Accrington Stanley, Sir Tom Finney edged Carlisle United with Rhiannon Davies at the double.
1 South – Curzon Ashton replaced Chester at the top on goal-difference after hitting their hosts 6-1, Simone Drummond contributing a hat-trick. Alder defeated third in the table Northwich Vixens 2-1 and Hindley won 5-2 against Wythenshawe Amateurs.

WEST MIDLANDS – Shifnal back in pole position
Premier – Sutton Coldfield Town made sure of staying top when being awarded a walkover at Worcester City, second-placed Lichfield City beat City of Stoke 3-1 set up by Shelbie Cartwright’s first-minute opener. Rebecca Hall’s brace proved crucial as Kidderminster Harriers just held on to edge Coundon Court 4-3, Lye Town were 3-2 winners over Tamworth.
1 North – Shifnal Town climbed back to the top of the table with an 8-0 win over Wyrley. Walsall held AFC Telford 1-1, winless Coventry City had a similar result at Darlaston Town, who are now fourth.

1 South – Chloe Barker-Duthie got four first-half goals as Kingfisher crushed Droitwich Spa 14-0 to go third. Sedgley & Gornal United’s Arshi Zahoor also netted four times in a 9-1 defeat of Cookley Sports, while Westfields won 2-1 over Rugby Town.
