The West Riding U-16 League title was sealed when Rothwell were unable to complete their fixture with Leeds, leaving Norristhorpe unable to catch the leaders with only one game left.
Leeds say; ‘We would like to pay credit to all the clubs who have competed in our division so well and so professionally, we have made great friends and met great people from each and every club.
‘This achievement demonstrates our commitment to developing local talent through our youth system, the quality of our coaching staff and the potential of the talent in our region.
‘Leading by example Captain Khloe Cooper and Vice-Captain Carla Dyson have been exemplary all season both on and off the pitch showing commitment, ambition and maturity beyond their years with all of the girls in the squad proving themselves to be exciting prospects for the future’.
Head of Youth Structure, Lee Townend, said “To be crowned double winners is no more than we deserve. The future is very bright at Leeds Ladies”.
Club chairman, Gary Cooper, expressed his pride at the under 16s achievements saying “You cannot over state how remarkable our girls have been since day one. They have shown the kind of passion for the club we dream of in our players, I simply cannot fault any of them and I have no doubt in the years ahead I will be just as proud seeing these girls progress through our system to senior level bringing more success to the club in the future”.
