Notts County Women have a new health and wellness partnership with the Portland Centre ahead of the 2021-22 East Midlands League season.

Based in the heart of the Meadows on Muskham Street, the Portland Centre is a community facility operated by Notts County Foundation. The facility offers a wide variety of sporting amenities, including a sports hall, squash courts, gym, fitness studio and traditional swimming pool, and is easily accessible to people who live locally, with onsite car parking, as well as ease of access via public transport.

Adam Dunleavy, Manager of Notts County Women FC, said: “We are delighted to continue our close tie with Notts County Foundation by entering into a new partnership with the Portland Centre. The facilities have undergone a wonderful transformation and the elite gym provides us with the perfect environment for our strength and conditioning needs. The Portland Centre will become the hub of all our fitness programmes and the training suite will become our analysis classroom for the season.”

Following the installation of the Portland Centre’s new gym equipment, Notts County Women FC will utilise the upgraded facilities for all strength and conditioning training sessions throughout the season.

Adam continued: “As staff, we have been working hard to add to our offering to the Notts County Women FC team. The partnership with the Portland Centre, alongside our training and matchday venue at Basford United, provides us with a set-up that punches well above what most clubs at our level, and indeed higher, can offer.”

Holly Fowler, Captain of Notts County Women FC, said: “The whole team is delighted to be back training at the Portland Centre. The new and improved space and facilities are very impressive and will play a big part in our fitness goals over the coming season.”
