Women’s pre-season games included a 2-1 defeat for Huddersfield Town at Celtic and a 4-4 draw between Leeds United and Derby County.
Celtic went ahead through but the lead was short-lived, as Brittany Sanderson squared the ball for Lucy Sowerby to finish. The Hoops eventually got the winner with three minutes to go.
Ellie Gilliatt bagged a brace as Derby County shared eight goals away to Leeds United.
MK Dons emerged as victors in a topsy-turvy tie with English Colleges, taking the lead before Eve Blakey’s double saw ECFA in front, only for the hosts to level by the break and later go 5-2 up before conceding a late third.
Newcastle United struck first against Middlesbrough with an Anna Soulsby effort but Lauren Robson swiftly levelled with a 25-yard free kick.
