Bolton Ladies have cut ties with BWFC Community Trust and revert to their original name for the 2020/21 FA Women’s National League season.

Manager Chris Knights told The Bolton News: “Realistically it was a decision we had to take. As a club we felt we had to stand on our own two feet, make our own decisions, if we are going to grow and improve.

“Football at this level is really moving on. A lot of teams are paying players and we need to be in a position to attract the better ones if we are going to progress.”

The Division  North side will continue to play their home games at Atherton Collieries FC.

Bolton Wanderers will still be providing women’s football via their Community Trust coaching sessions and the club also has girls teams from U-9s to U-14s.
