Linfield hit a late winner against second-placed Cliftonville on Wednesday 25 July, to move nine points clear of them in the NIFL Danske Bank Women’s Premiership.
With two games in hand, Cliftonville would have been in a strong position had they taken all three points and they did go in front during the first half through a Billie Simpson header.
However, the hosts levelled midway through the second half when a free-kick was only cleared as far as Kirsty McGuinness, who in the dying moments delivered a set-piece for Ashley Hutton to force the ball home.
Sion Swifts marked their return from an Irish FA suspension by beating Crusaders 4-2 to move within a point of third-placed Strikers from two games less.
Swifts took a 3-0 lead through Amy Boyle-Carr, Claragh Connor free kick and Tasmin McCarter header. Julie Nelson pulled one back but McCarter doubled her tally after a Connor set-piece was spilled, with Crusaders then scoring their second goal through Courtney Moore.
Glentoran ran out 5-0 victors at a winless Derry City, although a Demi Vance goal was the only difference between the sides at the break. Ali McMaster, Makyla Mulholland, Jessica Foy and Carah Milligan all later added one each.
