Manchester City will meet Paris Saint Germain in the third place match at the International Champions Cup in Miami on Sunday 29 July, after going down 3-0 to Olympique Lyonnais.

Lyon blew Nick Cushing’s side away with three goals in the opening 16 minutes.

The European champions took an early led through Eugenie Le Sommer’s free header at the far post and she scored her second when City were caught in possession just 20 yards from their own goal.

A clever finish from Ada Hegerberg made it 3-0 and Karen Bardsley did well to prevent a fourth from Amel Majri’s powerful volley.

Caroline Weir came off the bench to set up Jen Beatttie for the chance of a late consolation but goalkeeper Lisa Weiss was there to block the attempt.

North Carolina Courage beat PSG 2-1 in the other match at the Hard Rock Stadium. Jessica McDonald’s opener was cancelled out by an own-goal before Darian Jenkins restored the advantage late on.
