Reading FC Women have announced the signing of goalkeeper Rachael Laws from Sunderland.
The 27-year-old picked up an FA WSL Winners medal during a loan spell at Liverpool in 2013, but has spent most of her career with the Black Cats. Sunderland weren’t accepted into the WSL this season and the Royals say that Laws was keen to remain in the top tier.
Laws mentions what attracted her to Reading: “Reading were always a team I looked at and wanted to be a part of. I only heard good things about them and its somewhere I want to personally be and thrive hopefully while I am here.”
Laws was called up to the England Women’s Senior squad for the first time in 2017 for a Euro qualifier, she will be hoping to impress Phil Neville with her performances in the coming season.
