FA WPL midweek matches saw Brighouse Town win 5-2 at Leeds United after being two goals behind, while Larkhall Athletic were 5-0 winners over St Nicholas.
Brighouse Town gained some ground in the FA WPL Northern Division 1’s leading pair but had to come from two down at the break to do so.
Tenth-placed Leeds went in 2-0 up from a Holly Findlay brace but Charlotte Proud halved the deficit 5 minutes after the restart and half-time substitute Aimi Beresford had the visitors level before the hour mark.
Lauren Doyle was another to come off the bench and score, before both Proud and Beresford added their second goals to seal victory.
The result put Brighouse within six points of leaders Hull City and leaves Leeds three points above the drop zone.
Also on Wednesday evening, in South West Division 1, Larkhall Athletic ran out 5-0 winners over St Nicholas.
Thursday’s fixture saw Brislington and Cheltenham Town play out a goalless draw.
Two County Cup finalists confirmed
Top-flight Guiseley Vixens progressed to the West Riding County FA Cup Final with a 4-0 scoreline against Leeds United Reserves. Nikki Berko hit a hat-trick and Debbie Hastings rounded off the scoring. The Vixens will face Bradford City for the cup on 1st May at Fleet Lane.
Midlands Division 1 side, Birmingham & West Midlands were in cup action on Tuesday and reached the Birmingham County FA Cup Final with a 2-0 result over Regional League outfit Redditch United. West Bromwich Albion and Coventry United are still to contest the other semi-final.
