Everton Are Champions Elect

Sunday 14th May
FA WSL 2
Everton 4-0 Watford (Att: 821)

Their margin of victory over the Hornets has really strengthened the Toffees hand, ahead of their final game at London Bess next Saturday.

Even if they were to lose at The Hive, Durham would still have to win at Aston Villa on Sunday with a nine-goal swing in the Wildcats favour.

Seconds after going close, Georgia Brougham broke the deadlock at Goodison Park with a looping header into the corner of the net in the 18th minute.

There was almost a quick reply from Watford, as Kirstie Levell was forced into tipping a Danielle Puddefoot header onto the post.

The hosts doubled their advantage 4 minutes after the restart, with Aileen Whelan getting her first goal for the club is some style, netting from 25 yards.

It was 3-0 into the last 10 minutes, Olivia Chance’s effort from 20 yards deflected and past keeper Jo Fletcher.

A brave stop from Fletcher at the feet of Magill saw both players requiring treatment, with the Watford custodian being taken off and the Irish international staying on the field to tap home a late fourth goal from close range.
