London Bees have signed defender Danielle Lea, formerly of AFC Fylde, and she made her debut for at Durham on Sunday.
An ACL injury forced her to miss the whole of the 2014 season, but the Bees say Lea has a vast amount of experience, having also played for Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton and Blackburn Rovers.
Bees’ Head coach Luke Swindlehurst told londonbeeswsl.com:
“We are really pleased Danielle has agreed to sign with London Bees and I look forward to working with her again. She has a good playing history and we worked together at Man City and Liverpool before she moved over to Everton.
“She’s strong and is a very good reader of the game and has excellent technical attributes. Last week was a good introduction for Danielle, who trained with the squad leading up to the Durham game and travelled with us over the weekend. The travel up to the game and overnight stop over really helped the squad to bond and I’m sure she benefitted from that.”
