Huddersfield Town went fourth in the Northern Division after Katie Nutter netted twice in a fine 3-0 victory at leaders Middlesbrough.

Nutter scored in the 27th minute after Hannah Campbell’s header came back off the crossbar.

A dozen minutes later and Nutter was on target again, with the same player providing the cross from which the Terriers forced a late own-goal.

Flint goal sees Fylde foil Wolves

Wolves are still without a win after losing at home to unbeaten Fylde, for whom Natasha Flint scored to send them into the top half of the table.

Flint fired the visitors ahead 6 minutes before the break, while Jenni Anslow saw her shot spilled by the visiting keeper but Wanderers were unable to make anything of the resulting corner.

There were chances at both ends, including a Jade Cross shot saved as Wolves failed to find an equaliser.

Hammers hit by Hall brace

West Ham were unable to follow up their excellent midweek win at The Valley, as Coventry United climbed to sixth in the Southern Division with a 2-1 win at Rush Green.

Alison Hall’s header came down off the Hammers’ bar and was adjudged to have crossed the line, before first-half substitute Andreya Ezekiel-Meade rifled in a rebound from a half-cleared corner to send West Ham in level at the interval.

Hall (pictured) scored again for Coventry in the second period and this time it proved decisive.

Solihull and Saints gain ground on Foxes

Solihull Moors are three points behind Midlands Division 1 leaders Loughborough Foxes, following their 7-3 success at Long Eaton, while TNS are a further point back after beating Radcliffe Olympic 4-2.

Birmingham & West Midlands are a point short of seventh-placed Steel City Wanderers after sinking them 7-0, two goals apiece from Annie Collins and Charlotte Fisher.

Sporting Khalsa doubled their points tally, getting four goals in the second-half for a 5-0 defeat of Rotherham, who slip back to the bottom of the table.

Morecambe’s 4-1 result at Barnsley moved them into third place in Northern Division 1, three points behind the leaders with a game in hand. They scored twice in either half, with Demi Pringle getting a consolation for the Tykes.

Crewe Alexandra are up four places to sixth with the 2-0 win over Mossley Hill. Leanne Derry broke the deadlock on 63 minutes and sub Meg Booth sealed the points with 7 minutes to go.

Orient outdone by Actonians

Leyton Orient missed an opportunity to go top again in South East Division 1, as Actonians edged them 4-3 at the Matchroom Stadium. Alessandra Barreca bagged a brace for the West London side, Jessica Byrne and Claire Hollingsworth one each, O’s scoring through Chloe McNee, Sophie Le Marchand and Sarka Stryhalova.

MK Dons also failed to takeover the leadership, when held 1-1 at Denham United but they did rise to second. Alissa Down buried a 17th-minute free-kick for United, Milton Keynes replying a similar time from the end.

Poole push into fifth spot

Poole Town’s won a goal-fest at Basingstoke Town to go fifth in the South West Division 1. Poole were leading 4-2 after only 35 minutes with two each for Jemma Tewkesbury and Faye Rolfe-Hawkins, before ending up 5-4 winners. Sarah Wentworth got a couple for the home side, Helen Ogle and Jade Bradley also got on the scoresheet.
