The Danske Bank NIFL Premiership title will be decided in a top of the table clash next Wednesday, when leaders Linfield host Newry City.
Newry played their game in hand on the table-toppers last night at home to third-placed Sion Swifts, losing a seven-goal thriller 4-3 to remain a point behind Linfield.
The Swifts were twice ahead through Geny Decker and Hayley O’Donnell but City battled back to lead 3-2. However, Chloe McGlade then made it 3-3 and Amy Boyle-Carr netted the winner.
Sion will finish runners-up if they win their final game at home to the basement side and Newry lose theirs.
Fifth-placed Crusaders Strikers completed their fixtures in a 3-2 North Belfast derby defeat at Cliftonville, who are now within 2 points of them.
Billie Simpson put the hosts in front and although they doubled their advantage through Marissa Callaghan, Strikers cancelled it out by the break with efforts from Danielle Connolly and Emily Wilson.
When Simpson scored again on 57 minutes, that proved to be the decider.
Glentoran Belfast United thrashed Ballymena United Allstars 7-0 to inflict their eleventh loss in a row.
It was 3-0 after only 22 minutes, with Eimhear O’Prey’s early goal added to by Rebecca McKenna and Sam Kelly.
Rachel Rogan makesgot the fourth and Nadene Caldwell then scored either side of one from Annie Timoney.
