Gloucestershire went clear at the top of the South & West Counties Championship table after posting a second successive five-goal margin of victory.
They had begun with a 7-2 success in Dorset and before Wednesday’s fixture were top on goal-difference from both Wiltshire and Somerset, now moving three points ahead with a 5-0 defeat of the latter.
Megan Robinson went close for Somerset early on when her shot was tipped onto the post, before the keeper gathered the ball at the second attempt.
But Gloucestershire then enjoyed a period of pressure, culminating with the opening goal scored by Rosanna Blacker.
Three minutes after the interval Beth Clatworthy doubled the lead and although Somerset then forced a goal-line clearance, a breakaway led to Abby Rose making it 3-0.
Rose then made it two goals in as many minutes and completed her hat-trick late on with a fantastic dipping volley.
