Rehanne Skinner said she was disappointed that West Ham United managed only a point against bottom-of-the-table Liverpool.

Her side went ahead twice against the ten players of Liverpool after Gemma Bonner‘s first-half red card.

Riko Ueki put the hosts a goal up in the 57th minute before Mia Enderby equalised shortly afterwards.

Anna Csiki thought she had got the winner in the 68th minute.

But Beata Olsson scored three minutes from time to ensure the Reds came away with a draw.

“We’re really disappointed with the result, it’s as simple as that,” she said afterwards, according to the club’s official website.

“We’ve gone ahead twice, obviously we’ve dominated massive chunks of the game, to get into goal-scoring positions, to get crosses into the box and the use of wide areas.

“We’ve scored two good goals, but the mistakes that we’ve made when we’ve gone ahead have invited pressure on us when we didn’t need to. We’ve overplayed at key moments and ultimately that’s really what’s cost us in both situations.”

Rehanne Skinner: We’ve got to be more relaxed

She added: “We weren’t switched on from kick-off and we conceded a cheap goal.

“In the latter stages of the game, before the goal’s scored, we were overplaying and we just needed to be smarter about how we see the game out in those moments. We didn’t do that today and that’s disappointing.”

Reflecting that Liverpool had been hard to break down, she went on to explain: “When we’re in winning positions, we’ve got to be able to manage momentum and not put ourselves under so much pressure.

“We’ve got to be a little bit more relaxed in those moments to make smarter decisions; that then will ultimately lead to us maintaining the opportunity to get the three points.”

Liverpool remain at the bottom of the table, with three points so far this season. West Ham are one place above, with five points.
