Sampson Says They Are Ready

England manager Mark Sampson during a training session at Sporting 70 Sports Centre, Utrecht.

Lots has been said and written, repeatedly in the build up to this Euros tournament and to this meeting of England and Scotland but the messages from the Lionesses manager Mark Sampson have been constant and consistent. Now, his simple message is his side is ready and they’re ready to do something big. Starting with the game against Scotland.

“The feeling at the moment in the camp is one of readiness. The hard work the players have put in during the preparation period and over the last year gives us a feeling we’re ready to do something special in this tournament.

“In our hearts we feel like we’ve got that confidence and we believe we’re ready to go and do something big. But it’s going to be a real tough tournament for us, we know that. We’ve got six potential, really tough games, starting with a real tough one against Scotland, so there is that feeling of readiness and some excitement.”
