The FA has released the fixtures for the upcoming 2022/23 Barclays Women’s Super League (BWSL) season, which is set to be the biggest ever coming off the back of the home UEFA Women’s EURO.
Players who have starred this summer will feature across almost all of the 12 clubs competing in the 12th season of the league, as well as some of the very best athletes that the women’s game has to offer from across the globe.
Chelsea, who have won the last three BWSL championships, will be looking to defend their title against a chasing pack who will be determined to stop them, while the league also sees the return of Liverpool following their promotion from the Barclays Women’s Championship.
The campaign is due to kick-off over the weekend of 10-11 September, following a FIFA International window, with the opening weekend seeing the champions starting at home against West Ham United, while the returning Liverpool will visit Reading.
Two UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers clash at The Academy Stadium as Manchester City welcome Arsenal, while the red side of Manchester will travel in the opposite direction to London as United face Tottenham Hotspur.
Completing the first round of fixtures is Brighton & Hove Albion hosting Aston Villa, and Everton welcoming Leicester City.

One notable change for the season will see the annual Women’s Football Weekend moved from November to the weekend of 25-26 March – this is to avoid clashing with the FIFA Men’s World Cup in Qatar.

The Barclays Women’s Super League will once again be accessible in the UK through Sky Sports and the BBC, with matches not selected for live broadcast being streamed on The FA Player.
