Yeovil Pair Head For The States

Howard is due to complete her final year of education in America and the Glovers say she was providing excellent cover for the injured Charlotte Haynes, whilst she was back in the UK for the summer holidays.

Primus, who missed the last couple of games, due to concussion she received against Watford, begins a new and exciting adventure, taking her first year at university.

Howard, who has played for Yeovil in a previous season, kept two clean sheets in four games when putting the gloves on, after Haynes was badly injured in a clash with Oxford United’s Ini Umotong, where she was caught late, after claiming the ball in the two all draw at Abingdon in June.

Primus, who was signed at the beginning of the year, after moving from WSL one side Chelsea, scored 2 goals in six appearances. The England U-19 international, had to also overcome a knee injury which was sustained on international duty back in April meaning a good run of games was lacking, but Primus has been integral to the clubs success this season.

Speaking to a YTLFC representative, manager Jamie Sherwood said “I would like to place on record a huge thank you to Beth Howard, who came into the squad and the transition between Charlie and Beth was seamless.

“That goes to show the quality Beth possesses and the respect she has held within our squad.”

Sherwood went on to say “Primrose [Atlanta Primus] has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Her character, beliefs and personality are a huge credit to her and her family.

“My only regret is that we didn’t get to see her on the pitch as much as we and she would have liked. She has scored crucial goals when involved and that is all you can ask of her.

“I wish her well and will look forward to seeing the Primus name at the top of the scoring charts in the USA. It’s a dream come true and she knows that she has a home with us here at Yeovil Town Ladies FC.”
