Yeovil Launch New Development Centre

Yeovil Town Ladies, working in partnership with their educational provider Bridgwater College, introduce their new development centre for females.

Introduction

The Team BC and Yeovil Town Ladies FC Development Centre will give female players between the ages of U10-U16 the opportunity to train and play at a higher level. Being a part of this centre will NOT detract players from playing for their local grass roots club, school, or advanced coaching centre.

Who is it for?

It is aimed at developing talented female players, who want to improve both technically and tactically. There will be age groups at U-10s (school years 4 & 5 from Sept 2015), U-12s (school years 6 & 7 from Sept 2015), U-14s (school years 8 & 9 from Sept 2015) & U-16s (school years 10 & 11 from Sept 2015).

When will training be?

There will be a 90 minute session every Monday evening and this will run from the beginning of October through to the end of April.

U-10, U-12 & U-14 age groups will train between 6.00-7.30pm and U-16 age group will train between 7.30-9.00pm.

Where will it be held to?

All sessions will take place at Bridgwater College, where we have access to a range of different facilities, including grass pitches, astro turf pitch, indoor sports hall, classrooms, fully equipped gym, dance studio.

What will training consist of?

Training will be varied in order to develop players all round potential. Sessions will include technical and tactical sessions working to a syllabus of different topics. There will also be indoor Futsal sessions to develop skill and speed of play. Our strength and conditioning coach will also work with all age groups, working on various aspects depending on the age group (eg balance and coordination, power, speed, agility etc) and there will also be occasional classroom sessions to discuss nutrition, psychology and analysis. Players will also have access to a fully equipped gym, along with a studio for activities and classes. Goalkeepers will receive specific goalkeeper training.

Who will take the training sessions?

Each age group will have a head coach who will be a minimum of UEFA B qualified. Each age group will also have an FA Qualified assistant coach. There will also be a Yeovil Town Ladies FC first team player who will be an ambassador and offer extra support and guidance to the players in each age group.

Will there be matches?

Throughout the season there will be fixture opportunities. These will be friendly matches and played in an environment which will aid the development of players. Some fixtures will be held on training nights, with other fixture opportunities being held on weekends.

Do I have to already be playing for a Yeovil Town Ladies team?

No – the centre is designed to encourage female players from the whole region to come together to take part in a well structured and professional environment, whilst continuing to play for their current school, club team or advanced coaching centre.

Is there a cost?

Yes – the cost for the whole season is £160.00. This includes all training and fixture costs, along with training kit. The cost can be split over a period of time, or paid in full at the start of the season.

How do I get involved?

There will be two trial dates on Monday 21st September and Monday 28th September at Bridgwater College. U-10s and U-12s trials are from 6.00-7.30pm. U-14s and U-16s are from 7.30-9.00pm.

During these two trials, players are encouraged to attend to show their potential to train within this environment. Coaches will monitor players during these trials looking at players ability, attitude, team work, athleticism, being able to understand instructions, plus more.

We encourage players who are currently playing at grass roots level or above to attend.

What next?

To trial, please complete the trial form which can be downloaded here and return to Team BC and Yeovil Town Ladies Development Centre, Yeovil Town Ladies FC, Huish Park, Lufton Way, Yeovil, BA22 8YF. Deadline for applications is strictly 17/09/15.
