The Lady Glovers say that Haynes, who pulled off some good saves in the early stages of the first half, suffered an injury in the 15th minute.
A collision from a cross from the Chelsea right hand side, saw Haynes do well to prevent a final touch from an onrushing forward and managed to force a corner to keep the score at 0-0.
X-Rays later revealed that she had suffered a break at the base of the middle metacarpal, putting her on the sidelines for 6-8 weeks.
Despite the injury to Haynes, she managed to play on until the 75th minute, but then had to be substituted.
This is no doubt a huge blow to Jamie Sherwood’s side, who are preparing to face both Bristol City on Wednesday and Arsenal on Sunday, in two home matches in just 5 days at The Viridor Stadium in Taunton.
