Everton 1-1 Durham

Everton came from behind to earn a draw against Durham, as both sides missed a chance to get within striking distance of the top two, Yeovil Town and Bristol City.

The Wildcats were in front in the 15th minute with a breakaway goal. Annabel Johnson made a brave block and as Durham raced up the other end, Emily Roberts lobbed the ball over keeper Alex Brooks.

It stayed 1-0 to half time despite Claudia Walker forcing a clearance off the line by Ellie Christon and then having another effort tipped away by Helen Alderson, before Chloe Kelly put the rebound over the bar.

Kelly then say her shot cleared off the line by Beth Hepple, with Jordan Atkinson then springing the offside trap but firing agonisingly wide of Brooks’ far post.

It was all square with 16 minutes to play when Michelle Hinnigan headed the ball into the net from Krystle Johnston’s cross.

Everton went close to a winner as Rosella Ayane was twice denied by Alderson, the second effort from the edge of the area tipped over the bar.

Sheffield FC 3-0 Watford

Sheffield FC won 3-0 over bottom of the table Watford to move into sixth spot.

The hosts got off to a great start on 2 minutes, when Jodie Michalska was played in behind and slotted passed keeper Lucy Gillett.

The lead was doubled after 26 minutes, Sophie Jones crossing to the far post where Hannah Dale slid in to force the ball over the line.

The scoring was completed moments into the second half, Ellie Gilliatt with the run and cross for Hannah Cain to head home.

A late clash in the middle led to Sheffield FC’s Jodie Michalska going down with a back problem and the Hornets’ Ellie Mason stretchered off in a neck brace.
