Cardiff City FC and Swansea City have won through to next week’s Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup Final.

Cardiff City FC Women’s Phoebie Poole hit a hat-trick as the Bluebirds won 3-2 at Cardiff Met on Wednesday evening but Swansea City needed extra-time before progressing 2-0 at Aberystwyth Town on Thursday.

Poole put Cardiff City ahead on the first of three occasion, when connecting with Hannah Daley’s long ball.

Amy Long drew the Archers level after several shots were blocked but Poole turned in a Zoe Atkins cross to restore the lead by half-time.

Shannon Evans set up Erin Murray for the hosts’ second equaliser, however, Poole ran clear to complete her treble in the 70th minute.

Tania Wylde and Hannah Pusey both hit the woodwork for Aberystwyth in the first half, while Swansea’s Katie Hosford was denied a late winner by the post.

The Swans eventually made the breakthrough a couple of minutes into extra-time, with a close range finish from Stacey John-Davis.

They got their second ten minutes later, Chloe Chivers with the assist and John-Davis again with the goal.
