Swansea City went top of the Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League and Aberystwyth Town got off the bottom with a surprise first win.

Swansea City’s 4-0 win at Cascade was their sixth on the trot and saw them take top spot from Cardiff Met. Katy Hosford hit a hat-trck and Kelly Adams was the Swans’ other scorer.
Aberystwyth only had a single point to their name before today but pulled off an excellent 1-0 victory at third-placed Abergavenny. Niamh Duggan was the scorer, just after the hour mark.
Cyncoed went fourth with a 3-1 beating of Briton Ferry Llansawel, Millie Jones and Megan Saunders netting early on, Chelsea Deacon then replying but Alison Witts getting a third for the hosts.
Cardiff City FC Women came from behind to run out 5-1 winners at Port Talbot to leapfrog them into fifth spot. Lauren Amor’s penalty was cancelled out close to the break by Catherine Walsh, with Jasmine Simpson and Phoebe Poole both bagging a second-half brace.
