#WPWL: Cardiff Met win capital clash

Cardiff Met moved eight points clear at the top of the table with a 2-1 victory away to third-placed Cardiff City FC Women, Llandudno fought back to draw and Port Talbot hit seven.

Cardiff Met took the lead after only 4 minutes as Steph Turner scored via a Naomi Clipston corner but the Bluebirds levelled before the half-hour mark through Zoe Atkins. The Archers hit the winner with 16 minutes to go, Robyn Pinder firing home from 20 yards.

Llandudno retrieved a two-goal deficit to pick up a good point in a 2-2 draw at Abergavenny. Anna Jones and Fflur Williams scored for the visitors, afterwhich the woodwork helped protect their point.

Port Talbot are five points ahead of sixth-placed Rhyl after sending them to a 7-0 defeat but Laura-May Walkley’s goal was all there was between the teams, until Jess Denscombe got the second close to the break. Walkley had completed her hat-trick within 3 minutes of the restart though, Courteney Thomas and Jess Curran adding one each and Denscombe doubling her tally.
