Sunday May 29th
FA WSL DEVELOPMENT CUP FINAL
Brighton & Hove Albion v Sporting Club Albion (Wycombe Wanderers FC, 2pm)
Both sides won seventeen of their twenty-two league games, with the Baggies finishing four points clear and the Seagulls just a couple ahead of their nearest rivals but clinching the title with time to spare.
Their respective league form in the latter months of the campaign was certainly worthy of champions, with Sporting winning ten and drawing two of their last dozen games, while Brighton were only held in two of their final eleven matches.
They went head-to-head in a dramatic SSE WFA Cup tie in March at the Sussex FA ground, where the visitors stormed into a 3-0 lead in only 17 minutes, with a goal each from Natalie Poole, Summer Holmes and Abi Cottam. The hosts hot back through Lisa Fulgence and Sophie Perry, before Charley Boswell levelled on 81 minutes, only for Sammy Conroy to head in the deciding goal 2 minutes later.
That sort of tension could be quite unbearable this Sunday, with all there is at stake in the Premier League season climax.
