Women’s Regional League Round-Up: Six games survive Storm Dennis

Only six Women’s Regional League matches finished on Sunday, including a dramatic draw for Eastleigh and impressive cup victory for Actonians Reserves.

EAST MIDLANDS – Ilkeston first to match Magpies

PREMIER – Northampton Town rose two places to fifth with a 5-0 win over Woodlands, Francesca Partridge with two of their four second-half goals.

1 SOUTH – Third-placed Ilkeston were the first side to take a point off leaders Notts County in a 3-3 midweek draw, Georgina Williams bagging a brace for Town.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Actonians sting Godalming

GREATER LONDON LEAGUE JOHN GREENACRE MEMORIAL TROPHY – Division 2 South side Actonians Reserves sent Premier opponents Godalming Town crashing out in the second round with an 8-2 scoreline, Zemeka Clarke, Kayleigh Peters and substitute Antonia Cole each with doubles.

SOUTHERN – Eastleigh earn draw with late show

ONE – Eastleigh stayed two points behind second in the table Abbey Rangers with two games in hand after a late comeback rescued a point. Catherine Browning and Keeley Fitzgerald struck in the last couple of minutes to force a 3-3 tie after Laura Hobbs earlier brace for the visitora.

SOUTH WEST – Callington clinch semi-final spot

1 NORTH -AEK Boco added a third win of the season, 4-1 over West Super Mare, Shania Powell getting two of their goals.

PAT SOWDEN CUP – Callington Town reach the semi-finals with a 1-0 win over fellow Premier Division title-chasers Portshead, Chloe Williams with the goal.

WEST MIDLANDS – Two games started, only one finished

PREMIER – Leek Town’s game with Crusaders was abandoned soon after the start of the second half.

1 SOUTH – Rugby Town were 3-1 winners at Coventry City, where Chloe Debaes was twice on target.
