Women’s Internationals & Concacaf Gold Cup Qualifiers Round-Up

Women’s friendly internationals saw Vietnam win in South Korea, Nigeria almost do so in Canada, while some CONCACAF qualifiers were completed.

Australia’s 3-1 defeat of New Zealand saw Chelsea’s Sam Kerr score twice and Hayley Raso of Manchester City get the Matildas’ other goal, before the Football Ferns pulled one back.

Netherlands were 5-1 winners over South Africa, with Jackie Groenen of Manchester United and Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema each finding the net once.

Canada rescued a 2-2 draw with Nigeria as Christine Sinclair’s effort was added to by Spurs’ Shelina Zadorsky.

Tottenham’s Rosealla Ayane got both goals as Morocco beat Ghana 2-0, Brazil beat Hungary 3-1 in Spain where Gabi Nunes got two of the goals.

Argentina edged Chile with a Yamila Rodriguez effort, Ecuador and Paraguay finished 1-1, Colombia versus  Venezuela was goalless.

Vietnam were 3-2 winners away to South Korea, Catarina Macario and Rose Lavelle each bagged a brace as the USA again scored nine past Uzbekistan.

CONCACAF Championship Qualifiers

Mexico hit Puerto Rico for six in the Group A decider, Priscila Chinchilla of Glasgow City notched a double to help Costa Rica to a 5-0 win over Guatemala and top spot in Group B.

Jamaica won Group C when defeating Dominican Republic 5-1, with the aid of a brace by Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw.

Group D was won by Panama after a 2-0 result over rivals El Salvador, Haiti beat Cuba 6-0 to finish five points clear of them in Group E, Group F’s top two finished 2-2 to see Trinidad & Tobago progress ahead of Guyana.

England beat Belgium to qualify for UEFA Women’s U-19 Euros
