Monday’s Women’s international friendlies saw Canada draw 0-0 with Brazil and Italy eventually see of Austria 3-2.

Canada completed their three-match preparation for the Olympics without conceding a single goal, although the last two matches were goalless draws. Shelina Zadorksy headed against the post from a corner kick five minutes from time against Brazil. Head coach Bev Preistman, told canadasoccer.com: “The last three games we played Brazil, it’s eight goals conceded so we have taken a step forward, we were a difficult team to beat and I think we rattled them.”

Italy three times took the lead in Austria, Angelica Soffia seeing her goals in either half cancelled out by Nicole Billa and Carina Wenninger, before Elena Linari converted a 77th-minute penalty.
