The Beds FA Senior Girls Development Cup (U-16s) 2015 final was to prove to be Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses first success in a county Cup.

A repeat of last year’s junior final, with hosts AFC Kempston the opposition, was not to see Woburn overawed by the occasion this year but to continue a run of now 21 games all won.
This sees the team top the Beds & Herts League, which they hope they can win over the next two weeks, in the final of the league cup and with the squad split in two not counted in the unbeaten run, be winners and runners up in the league futsal competition!
The County Cup on the main Kempston pitch was played out in front of a packed stand, which for 55 minutes witnessed a tense affair before Mille Glenn’s fine headed goal broke the deadlock.
Ten minutes later, Molly Hughes hit a trademark 30-yard effort which sailed into the net.
Although head coach, Pat Mancini, had to be away on businesses, his instructions for the day were sent with the use of every bit of modern technology possible.
