Lyon youngster Jule Brand has high hopes for her team in Europe this season, as the 22-year-old aims to win her first Champions League title.
Who is Jule Brand?
Jule Brand is one of the most exciting young talents in European football.
The German was named winner of the first-ever Golden Girl award in 2022 and her career has only gone up from there.
Brand played a huge role in Wolfsburg getting to the Champions League final in 2023. After impressing in domestic leagues, Brand earned a call-up for Germany at Euro 2025 in summer.
The talented midfielder was named in the team of the tournament in Switzerland as once again she helped her team to another major final.
But reaching finals wasn’t enough for Brand and after falling at the final hurdle twice she decided to start a new challenge.

Brand left Wolfsburg in summer as she looked to go one better than with Wolfsburg and win the Champions League with Lyon.
“When I left Wolfsburg, I felt like there’s the right time for a new chapter and Lyon’s one of the biggest clubs in Europe, in the world” Brand explained.
“They have the aim to win the Champions League every year. So I was very happy when I got in contact with them, the conversations we had, just like overall, I was really happy. That’s why I’m happy to have joined Lyon.”
It seems Brand’s decision to leave Germany was a good one, as Wolfsburg look unlikely to win another European title this season following a disappointing loss to Real Madrid.
Lyon have high hopes for the Champions League
While Wolfsburg look unlikely to have any success in Europe this season, Lyon’s form has been exemplary.
The French side are still unbeaten in the Champions League after four games and are one of the strongest contenders to win a record ninth title.
“All the players, the whole club has to aim to win the Champions League” Brand continued. “We know also it’s very, very difficult to win the Champions League, but we try our best, and work very hard to hopefully achieve our aim.
“It’s like a good pressure, it’s like everyone else is pushing each other to the limit to perform well in training and the games and just to perform good as a team.”
Lyon face Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday in their penultimate group game which could be their toughest yet.
