West Ham United Women have signed experienced England youth international Lucy Parker after the end of her time at UCLA Bruins.

The 22-year-old – who has 22 caps with the England development age-groups – had been in the draft picks of NWSL side Kansas City but the opted to return to the UK.

Parker told whufc.com: “It’s good to be able to come back to England and play in the top division, I couldn’t ask for a better opportunity.

“The experience that I’ve had over in the states has been a good one, I’ve grown up away from football and was a fantastic life experience.

“I grew up here, I’m English so this style of football is in my blood so I’m hoping to be able to adapt quickly.

Manager Olli Harder commented: “Lucy is someone who we believe has huge potential and has shown her qualities already.

“Lucy has incredible work ethic, is very internally driven, extremely humble and a good team mate. These are always the qualities I look for when bringing players in our football club.”

Meanwhile, the Hammers have made some backroom additions, with Brian Tompkins becoming joint Assistant Manager / First Team Coach & Head of Player Development, Sidney Kavanagh takes on the role of Performance Analyst and Lucy Barnes is Kit Operative.
