West Ham United have signed Belgium international central defender Amber Tysiak from Oud-Heverlee Leuven.
The 22-year-old told whufc.com: “I’m very excited to sign for West Ham United.
“I’ve watched the team play a few times and I can see a group of players who work well together, and fight for the cause together. They always give 100 per cent in every game and I’m looking forward to being a part of that.”
Manager Paul Konchesky said: “Amber is a composed centre-back, who plays with a maturity beyond her years, and has shown her quality at the highest level for both club and country.
“We’re thrilled to add another talented, young player to our squad at West Ham in Amber and I’m looking forward to working with her for the rest of the season and beyond.”
Tysiak played for RC Genk in the Belgian Super League for four years, before joining OH Leuven in April 2020.
She helped Leuven finish second in the table last season, and leaves with the club top of the standings having won 12 of their 13 league matches so far this term.
Tysiak made her debut for Belgium in February 2021 and has earned 20 caps to date.
